Sarvarth’s Story

Legacy of Sarvarth !

It was the summer of 1941, with the sun beating down mercilessly, the heat outside matched the fire of nationalism burning within the hearts of all the Indians. The cry for India’s freedom was growing louder and tempers were running high.

There was a good demand for pure and good quality saffron as saffron is used in culminary, medicines and worship. Saffron is also known to have the unique property of cooling down tempers and soothing the senses.

In those turbulent times. a brave young Gujarati lad Fatechand K Shah started to procure and supply the purest of saffron all over the country from the bustling Masjid Bandar area of Mumbai. In 1947, he celebrated the country’s independence by serving lavishly milk laced with saffron to all and sundry.

After 48 years, before this great luminary passed away in 1989, he had handed over the reins of his saffron brokerage agency to his beloved son Satish Shah. Since then Satish Shah has been successfully carrying forward the rich legacy left behind by his illustrious father. His father’s last words are still ringing in his ears: “Satish Dikra, we are the trustees of our customers money, not the owners. So never ever compromise with the quality of saffron.”

With this motto, following his father’s legacy to the utmost satisfaction of his clients, Satish Shah earned the goodwill of nearly 400 odd customers. To comply with the quality norms more effectively, a full-fledged trading firm, popularly known as RVH Trading was established.

In 2021, Harsh Shah, son of Satish Shah, armed with an MBA Degree plunged headlong into the task of supporting his father. He wanted to make RVH Trading known into a household name and usher it into the sunshine by entering the retail segment by creating the brand and selling best quality saffron under the brand name of Sarvarth. The name comes from the most auspicious pilgrimage place “Shatrunjay”, meaning – overcome and win the enemies lying within thy self, not outside.

Starting from Masjid Bandar, after 82 glorious years, the saffron of late Mr Fatechand K Shah is now finding more and more pride of place on the shelves of prestigious retail outlets in our country and is also available online.

When you consume Sarvarth saffron, your entire being is filled with the aroma and essence of India’s magnificent culture, tradition and heritage.
